The great news is that we have finished more than 80 clean ups so far! The not-so-great-news is that we are running behind schedule due to a string of rain days and some unusually late snowfalls.
Thankfully, the forecast for this week (so far) promises enough "good days" so that we can finish our Spring Clean Ups by Saturday and start mowing next week.
Today (5/3) we have crews working in Minnetonka, Minneapolis and St. Louis Park.
Tomorrow (5/4) we will have crews in Plymouth and St. Louis Park.
Thank you for your continued patience as we grapple with this cold, wet spring weather. If you have any questions about what day you are scheduled for service, please feel free to call our office: 952-252-3301

No clean ups today, due to weather

It is past the middle of April and today we wake up to giant flakes of snow falling from the sky, coating our trees and rooftops. Only in Minnesota does the snow come three weeks after the first day of Spring.
Due to the wet weather conditions we will not be sending the crews out for Spring Clean Ups today.
Tomorrow's forecast is cloudy, but promising because the chance of precipitation is low. For Friday, however, the current prediction is a 70% chance of rain. At this point, to make up for lost time, it is likely that we will have lawn crews working on Saturday.

Spring Clean-Ups Underway!
Spring clean-ups have officially begun. Now if we could just get the weather to cooperate! Weather reports are predicting more snow and rain for the Minneapolis area this week, but we're still hopeful that we will have all of our clean-ups done before the regular mowing season begins on May 1st. Weather permitting, we plan to have crews out every day for the next two weeks, working hard to clean up all of the yucky dead debris that winter left behind. Our goal is to have all of our customers' yards dethatched and looking great by the end of April. If you haven't mailed in your contract for the 2011-12 season, there is still time!

Mowing discount for "good" neighbors

Who doesn't want a cheaper mowing price? This year, Peterson Lawn has created a referral program that will lower the cost of weekly mowing for customers new and old.
The Good Neighbor Discount is a new program that gives reduced mowing rates to customers who refer their friends to Peterson Lawn. The best part is, your friend will also get a discount just by mentioning your name!
Here is what you do: If you have neighbors who need lawn services, refer them to us. When one of your neighbors (or friends) signs a contract with us for this season we will give you both a discount.
The more people you refer, the more discounts can be applied to your account -- there is no limit! If the Good Neighbor Discount is something you and your neighbors would be interested in, have them give us a call and be sure they say they were referred by you!
Call us or e-mail us today for your free estimate: 952-252-3301 or info@petersonlawn.com

STARTING TODAY: Spring Clean Ups

Thanks to the exceptionally warm weather this year, our lawn crews are able to begin Spring Clean Ups one week ahead of schedule.
Today they are working in Minnetonka and later this week we will have crews visiting St. Louis Park, Edina and potentially some other suburbs as well -- provided this nice weather keeps up!
If you are still interested in a Spring Clean Up, it's not too late to sign up. Simply mail your contract in this week (or as soon as you can) and we will add you to our clean up list. At this rate, we hope to have our residential Spring Clean Ups completed by the third week in April.
As always, if you have any questions please feel free to call or e-mail the office. Our phone number is (952) 252-3301. For e-mail inquiries contact us at: info@petersonlawn.com

Quick fix for Snow Mold

New Disposal Requirements for Twin Cities

Beginning January 1, 2010, residents in the Twin Cities area will be required to put their organic waste out for pickup in compostable bags - either paper bags or compostable plastic bags. This will affect residents in the following counties: Anoka, Carver, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott and Washington.
What Peterson is Doing in Response
We will do our best to keep your disposal prices low. In the past, we have offered a $3/bag disposal service to our lawn customers during the fall clean up season. What we know about the compostable bags so far is this : They are smaller than the 55gal. bags we traditionally use and they cost more. We still plan on offering our disposal service to you, and hopefully we can help you save a little money by purchasing our compostable bags in bulk. Right now we are investigating our options and will be mailing disposal pricing information with our Fall Clean Up Reminders on Oct. 1.
